Color Balance off in non-auto modes

I notice whenever I take a picture using any of the other modes that aren't automatic, that the color tends to have a more reddish tone to it, more noticably in skin tones. Has anyone else experienced this or know how to balance it so the color looks more like what you get in auto mode? I've tried changing the light balance, but that hasn't helped. Everything else seems fine, just the color is off when shooting out of auto modes.
