If you could only have one lens what would it be?

Just wondering if you could only have one lens what would it be or is there such a thing?

    Howdy @Jnewb - There are "all-in-one" lenses like the Tamron 18-270mm (see here), but they're designed to be used as a general walk around lens in bright daylight. The moment you step indoors or as the sun begins to set, the lens doesn't become as useful.

    My advice is to go with a lens that is best suited for the types of subjects and scenes that interest you most. If you can give me an idea of what you'd like to shoot or the types of effects you're after I can point you in the right direction. Happy shooting!
