Display issues when turning on

This sounds crazy, but sometimes or the majority of the time I turn on my little camera the display will not show up until I do the whole show pictures button and then back. It's really frustrating to me as I shoot in only manual all the time. There are times when I need to turn the camera and set my settings and shoot in a 3 second time period. Any advice on why it's doing this and what to do about it?

I have the same issue. I can't get the screen to just show the picture or going away completely.
