Tripod - which one??

Hi,

What is a good reasonably priced tripod for a beginner with a D3100? I would prefer to buy new but would also consider investing in a more expensive brand that is second hand.

    Look for a Bogen (now Manfrotto) 3001. I've had this tripod for 20 years and it's served me well. Light and easy to use. You won't regret it. And why bother buying some cheap piece of crap you're going to have to replace in 3 months? If you're going to use the tripod a lot, you'll want something that will stand up to use (and abuse). You can't go wrong with Bogen.

    Hi guys, please suggest which is the best budget tripod for the D3100. I often use my 55-300mm lens on it.
