Turn VR 'On' or 'Off' when removing the lens

G'Day @Moose - If I leave the VR switch in the ON position, turn the camera off and remove the lens, will it damage the lens or the VR feature?

I have the 18-55mm and the 55-300mm lenses and although I take care of my gear, are these lenses durable? Can they be knocked around a little or should I be wrapping them in cotton wool. Cheers! - Mick

Howdy @Stillsnaps (Mick) - No, it won't damage the lens or vibration reduction. VR is only active when the lens is connected to a powered camera.

They can stand up to some abuse. I wouldn't worry too much about wrapping them. Happy shooting! :)
