Trap Focus for Wildlife Shots

Does the T3i have the ability to do "trap focus"? A friend of mine has a Nikon with that ability and has gotten great bird shots using the trap focus mode. I would like to do the same with my T3i.

    Not being a Canon user I missed this earlier. My understanding is that Canons usually cannot, but that the "Magic Lantern" firmware program at least for some makes it possible. Nikon has no such option, but Canon users can, at some risk, install this third party firmware, which adds various capabilities. My son has a Canon whose model I forget, and I believe trap focusing is one of the options added. It's up to you whether you want to take the risk, though.
