Focusing in video mode

I really want to know and see examples of the different focus modes. I think I have it figured out where I can touch the screen, and what I touch will then become focused, but it doesn't work out that way. I'm just confused.

Hi,
There is some confusion here. I have just looked at your manual and it doesn't offer very clear information.
Basically, you cannot focus by tapping your LCD monitor. All you can do is tap the area you wish to focus on. Focussing still takes place when you half press the shutter button.
Using the touch screen is an alternative to selecting an AF point manually by rotating the command dial or for selecting an AF zone.
