Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 DG

Hiya! I'm new to this whole photography stuff and I'm trying to get out as often as possible! I have the above lens and I'm hoping to capture a buzzard, which has a regular spot, this weekend! Any tips/settings that anyone could recommend would be fab. I have the cheat cards (which are amazing) but only for the 18-55mm. Would I roughly be looking at similar settings? Thanks you kindly in advance! :)

  • Hey @wattsits84 - If the buzzard is not moving very rapidly, I would shoot in shutter priority and set the shutter speed to around 1/1000. I would also set the release mode to continuous so you can fire off a bunch of shots each time you press the shutter button. All the best!

@moose thank you so much! I've been out there twice now and he's not been on the post! When he his, I shall certainly give those settings a whirl! I will get him! Thanks again, much appreciated, hopefully I'll catch that bird.
  • @wattsits84 - You bet! Let me know how it goes.
