I recently got the Samyang 8mm f/3.5 UMC Fish-eye CS II Lens for my D5300. Was wondering if anyone has any go-to settings, hints or tips for using this lens.
I'm not familiar with this lens, but as a general rule, a very wide very short lens like this will be relatively non-critical as to both depth of field and camera jiggle, which means that you will probably notice little difference between one good exposure and another.
Very wide lenses often pick up a lot of sky and you might need to do some exposure compensating to get detail in shadows. Active D lighting or post processing to open shadows might well be useful.

It looks like fun.
