Just purchased this lens for my camera to take "closer" pictures of my son while playing sports. Any feedback on this lens?

I have it and love it. I bought my D3300 as a kit and it came with it. I think you will like it once you get use to it. Make sure for sports you are setting your shutter speed pretty high. If there is a lot of light out that shouldn't cause a problem. I found that the longer the lens the more light it seems to need. Best of luck with it.
