It just happens that that question arose the other day on the D3200 forum so just in case @moose is not around tonight, I'll repost what he said there:
"The Tamron 70-300mm f/4-5.6 will actually be compatible with the 55-200mm VR set because they share the same aperture. The only difference will be the starting focal length. Anywhere it says to set your focal length (zoom) to 55mm, you would just set it to 70mm. All the best!"
I think Moose may have meant 55-300mm, not 200mm. But in any case, both aperture and maximum length are the same between the Tamron and the 55-300mm, so there should be no problem.
Hey @KimAlexandra - As @bruto mentioned the Tamron 70-300mm will be compatible with the 55-200mm set. Both lenses share the same f/4-5.6 aperture range, which means the manual settings will be the same. The only difference will be anywhere it mentions setting the zoom to 55mm, you would just set your lens to 70mm. All the best!
Hey @leahy - I'm actually finishing up a set for the 18-270mm. I'll be rolling out a new website redesign in a couple weeks, then after that I'll get the new cheat cards up. All the best!
