SD card won't record new pictures

My camera won't record any new pictures after switching from green box to P and then back to green box. I can see all the old pictures, but it's not recording anything new.

Is the card full? If not, then check the lock switch on the card itself.

Adding to the above, check the physical condition of the lock switch. It's a mechanical feeler only, and if it gets dislodged, or if the reader itself is slightly off, it can fail to record. Try the card on a computer or other card reader to see if it can be written to there.

I've read of people getting past a defective lock switch by taping over the space, but if possible I would avoid anything that can foul the camera.



Before you do anything, make sure you copy the pictures on that card to a computer. If the card is defective or failing, they can really disappear.
