I thought I’d share a tip on managing your photos. It’s very easy. It’s one of those things where you set-it-and-forget-it and just let the magic happen.
Here’s the TLDR version:
Use Google+ Auto Backup on your PC. See here:

If you use an Android device, you’re probably familiar with Google+ and its Auto Backup feature for photos. If you use an Android device and you’re not familiar with this, you need to start using it!
What G+ Auto Backup does is it takes all the photos on your device and uploads them to Google Photos. So if you lose your device or delete everything off of it, your photos are still available if you just sign in to your Google account.
Initially, it was solely a backup service, but for a while now, Google Photos has added some nifty features in how it organizes and processes your backed up photos and videos.
See these links for details about Auto Awesome and Stories.

So that means the photos/videos you shoot with your DSLR can also get in on the fun.
If you’re going to do this, what I would suggest is to NOT upload full resolution photos to Google. A free Google account will give you 15GB (which is quite a lot), but photos/videos from a DSLR are huge. It won’t help if you shoot a lot in continuous mode. In the options of the application, you can choose to upload “Standard size” rather than “Full size”. Choose “Standard” for unlimited uploads.
Of course, go ahead to upload full resolution shots if you intend for this to be your sole backup solution. I don’t recommend this because there are better options available elsewhere.
