SD card won't delete

My 60D SD card won't delete. When I go to shoot a picture, a yellow circle appears and it says write protect. When I go to the menu on the camera and scroll to erase it opens again and says write protect. How do I get rid of this? I tried removing the battery etc...nada.

There's a little switch on the side of your SD card. Toggle it the other direction.
