Settings/lenses for taking interior design photos

What are the best settings and photo lenses for taking interior photos for an interior designer? I'm using a Nikon D5100.

    These types of questions pop up occasionally and they’re a bit impossible to answer. Best lens depends on what you’re trying to shoot. Best settings depends on lighting conditions and how you want the shot to look.

    That said, here’s a general tip. Use a normal zoom such as the 18-55mm. A fast aperture lens would work too but it doesn’t matter since you won’t shoot wide open anyway. Mount the camera on a tripod. Settings would be Aperture-priority mode, f/8, and ISO 100. Compose. Trigger the shutter with remote or timer. Maybe set exposure compensation to +0.3 or +0.7 to brighten things up a bit. Shots will be clean and sharp with sufficiently large depth of field which is probably what you’re after.
