Lens Label for Nikon D3100 kit lens

If the label on the lens glass was removed would anything be changed? I've searched and searched and have not found anything on the topic. Earlier today I absent-mindedly left my camera bag unzipped and picked it up and my camera fell out and the label on the top of the lens glass was torn. I'm guessing the lens cover was slammed hard enough to tear the label. If anyone could help I'd love the advice and even better give me advice on how to cover it up or replace the label.
