When I try to use the eyepiece to shoot, the auto focus tries to turn the lens (I can hear it), then it resets. The motor is trying to do its job, but something is stopping it. However, the auto focus works fine when I use the LCD screen for shooting/focusing. Please help.

Another thing, this happens with any lens I use.

Take the lens off. Try cleaning off the contact points between the camera and lens. Since you experience the issue with different lenses, then focus on cleaning the camera body part of the contact points.

If that doesn’t work, then you’ll probably need to bring it to a Nikon service center.
