Idiot's guide to video

Hi,

I've never really bothered much with video but since the D3200 looks pretty good I thought I'd give it a whirl. We're going to Edinburgh this weekend and I'd like to take little snippets of video and edit them together when I get home.

Basically I want to know how to set it up so that I don't have to worry about fiddling about each time I record a few seconds of video. What's the best auto focus setting to use? And which frames/second frame rate would be best?

I'm not looking to create a masterpiece but I'd like to make the most of what it can do.
