Best lens for close ups and clarity

Hello, I am going to India shortly and I want to buy another lens. I'm going to the Taj Mahal as part of the trip so I want good close ups and clarity shots. Any recommendations on lenses? I currently have the 18-55mm. Also, any recommendation for petal and filter lens accessories?
