Nikon D5200 or Canon T3i

Ok, age old question, which one is better the Nikon D5200 or Canon T3i? I realize this is very subjective and depends on my situation. I currently have a Nikon D50 and Nikkor 28-80 mm f/3.3-5.6 and a Quantaray 70-300mm f/4-5.6. I can keep my cost down by purchasing the 5200 body only and get use to the camera and functions while upgrading my lenses later or go with the T3i but with more cost because of the new lenses.

Any comments?

    Hi,
    Generally, I would advise staying with the system you have invested in unless you are a big lottery winner. As you say, deciding on a camera is very much a subjective subject. Camera magazines often compare cameras and then declare one or the other the winner, but in the real world all the big name cameras are very much alike.
