Loud shutter sound

Hi there, I just received the Nikon D5100 as a Christmas gift. It was just the body so I have to use my lens kit from my 60D. I am not that familiar with the D5100, but it seems to be much louder than my old camera. Is that the case with everyone's, or is something wrong with mine?
