Black images

When I take a picture, the image is pure black. I have previous pictures on my memory card that show up fine. I have changed lenses, and still have the same problem. I have turned the camera off, taken out the battery, and then tried again. I have checked to see that the shutter is moving and I can see movement when I snap a picture. It is not an exposure issue, as I have tried on different settings, including automatic. Yes, the lens cap is off when I take a picture. I am afraid that it is something electrical and will have to be sent off, but checking here as a last resort to see if I am missing something. Thanks.
