Speedlight

I have the lens kit that came with the D5100, Nikkor 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G. I bought an AF Nikkor 50mm 1:1.dD and AF-S Micro Nikkor 40mm 1:2.8G.
I've seen cheap speed lights on ebay, and I am in search for a really cheap but worthy speedlight. I am new to photography and have a very small budget. I am not a professional just a hobbyist.
If I want to take a picture of my daughter during sunset with the beautiful sun glare but also want to see my daughter clearly, what would you recommend?
