Is there a back button focus on my Nikon D3100?

You can assign AF-L/AE-L button to use as a back button focus. However, there is one big issue. You cannot use the method "recompose and shoot" because when the focus point is out of focus the shutter cannot fire. It is blocked and this function cannot be deactivated, so you need to keep the main object in focus by selecting the appropriate focus point or you can switch to the live view mode where the shutter is not blocked (D3200 is blocked here as well). The issue seems to be the same even in higher models like the D5200 or D90. Only the D7100 has a feature of deactivating shutter block when a focus point is out of focus.
