Tips and tricks for the Nikon 55-200mm lens with the D3100

edited October 2013 Posted in » Nikon D3100 Forum
Hi @Moose and fellow forum members. I'm from South Africa and the kit I bought has both the 18-55mm & 55-200mm lens in the bundle.

I have read the forum and found all the tips and tricks for the 18-55mm most helpful, but aren't there any tips & tricks for the 55-200mm lens? Any help is appreciated.

The 55-200mm is nice for outdoor events. If you have the VR version you can shoot good photos with pretty slow shutter speeds. If it's non-vr, you must always keep on eye on shutter speed. If you're taking photos at 200mm then you should have at least 1/200 shutter speed or your images will be blurry.
  • Howdy @jadedewet - What do you like to shoot? I second @kravattisolmu's advice...if you're shooting hand-held be sure to keep the shutter speed faster than 1/200 in order to avoid camera shake.
