Using a 60D with Frame Thief Animation Software

I am trying to use my Canon 60D with Frame Thief animation software, but can't seem to get the camera to feed a signal to the software. Frame Thief will only recognize the built-in iSight camera from my laptop. I have a cable connecting the camera's AV output to the laptop's USB jack. I'm using EOS utility, and I can see a feed from the camera on the laptop screen, so I know the camera is sending a signal that the laptop is receiving, but I can't seem to get Frame Thief to receive that signal. I bought Frame Thief because it said it was compatible with the 60D, but I can't get it to work. Any ideas?
