I don't buy backdrops. I take a picture of a person and make the background transparent using the Gimp (see gimp.org, a free software). Then I open the image that I want to use as a backdrop (for example a nice picture of a beach and ocean) and I paste the person on top of that image as a layer.
It works okay on white backgrounds to make them transparent, but it works better using a green screen like this one:
