I just got a T2i with 50mm prime lens. Shooting portraits is awesome with what I have, but I love cars and the prime doesn't cut it when I go to car shows or meets. What would be a good lens for my situation? Thanks!
Howdy @roiboie - Honestly, I think the 18-55mm kit lens would be fine. If you're shooting outdoor car shows, the 18-55mm focal range will give you the ability to get the composition you're after.
If you're shooting indoor car shows, you could still use the 18-55mm, but I would shoot with a tripod. That way you could set your ISO to 100 and ensure sharp, clean results.
If you're looking for a lens with a bit more reach for meets, then the Canon 55-250mm (see here on Amazon) would be the next best choice. It's affordable, it's got image stabilization and it will allow you to zoom in on distant cars.
