D3100 Dropped

edited February 2013 Posted in » Nikon D3100 Forum
So, yes, after 18 months the inevitable happened and I dropped my camera. It was in it's padded camera bag but when I went to take a shot afterwards the image through the viewfinder was a murky grey/black and when I pressed the shutter button the image displayed was a black rectangle with maybe a millimeter around the top and left hand side.

I am guessing I need to get it back to a Nikon service center or is there an easy fix for this one?

  • @AnimalFlower - Sounds like something got dislodged inside the camera body. I would send it to Nikon. If it makes you feel any better, I've dropped my fair share of cameras...so I feel your pain.

    Thanks Moose,

Annoyingly (in some ways) I live in the Caribbean so I will need to get a willing person to take it off the island for me. I am lost without it. If I had dropped it I would not mind so much but someone else knocked the bag that sent it tumbling.

    Thanks for your reply!
