Raynox DCR 250 Focus

edited February 2013 Posted in » Nikon D3100 Forum
Hello everyone. I finally got my Raynox DCR-250 delivered to me yesterday. I tried attaching it to the 18-55mm and 55-300mm Nikon lenses. I used aperture priority mode to capture, but they won't focus. Can someone guide me through the settings that I should be using on the camera? Please note, I do not own a tripod.
Thanks, Learner

When adding extension tubes or other optics you need to manual focus. Should be rather easy with macro. On your lens turn switch to M from AF.

Hi @learner, what's your experience with Raynox? Looking to get one myself.
  • @Learner - With the Raynox DCR-250 you have to get extremely close (1 to 3 inches) to your subject in order to achieve focus. A true macro lens (like the Nikon 40mm f/2.8) will give you a bit more working distance between you and your subject. Hope that makes sense and happy shooting! :)
