My pictures are completly black in manual, but in the view finder before taking the picture it's fine (with no flash it does a better job and the settings are about the same).
I did a search on the web and it has happened to other people besides yourself. Here's a short thread from Digital Photography Review referring to a similar problem: http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/post/37882917
It looks like the camera has to go back to the retailer for exchange or to Nikon or APS for repair.
Thanks for looking. Does your camera do this? I reset the settings, point at a place where it will say too dark in the live view, switch to manual, no flash, 1/1000 f/5.3, ISO 3200, white balance auto.
Then I turn the dial to no flash, reset the settings and take the same shot; it is better.
