Pictures not in Focus Through the Eye Piece

edited January 2013 Posted in » Nikon D3100 Forum
I'm a newbie to the DSLR world. I believe there is a problem with my camera, but I have not taken it to get looked at yet. When I'm focusing and about to capture a picture, it never is clear while looking through the eye piece, but the picture comes out in focus. Is this a setting issue?

  • have you adjusted the little +/- knob directly next to the viewfinder? This allows you to adjust the eye piece so that it is clear.

    I have the same problem when trying to use the telephoto lens when attached to my 55-300mm zoom lens.

    @shespeler & @castlepines,
    The comment raygsok has made is more than likely your problem. People that wear contacts or glasses sometimes have issues. I'm no expert or scientist, but I think it has to do with how strong the lens is inside of the viewfinder. You can buy an attachment which enables you to view inside better.
