Canon 70-300mm L Series Lens

Happy New Year, everyone!

I just ordered a Canon 70-300mm lens today and I'm a little worried if I made the right choice to go against the 100-400mm.

Has anybody used this lens? How is the image quality and the lens performance? I'm little curious to know your experience. I would appreciate your views.

I am curios too. I was going to post the same questions as I am thinking of ordering one. Is this an EF Lens? Are they as good as an EF-S lens and will it work well in the Canon 60D?
