I have heard good things about SlikPro tripods (slikpro 700). It's only 200 euros and feels sturdy and heavy. I'm looking forward to them later this year. Of course, if ur wallet can handle it, then Manfrotto or Gitzo are the best.
A basic rule that I've heard from photographers is to stay away from tripods that are too light. Light ones are of course nice to carry around and they do fine handling the camera and lens, but there is the if factor. If while shooting a scene there are children, pets, party people , random by passers, or strong winds you could be in trouble.
Im still confused myself which one to get; there are so many. It may be better to go to a photography store and get their top seller (though 200-250 euro is my max).
