Camera Recognition on Laptop

Hey! I have a 32GB SDx10 memory card, which I use both for pictures and for making short films, but my Macbook doesn't recognize it in the memory card slot. I've always just used the cord to connect the camera to my laptop before, and iPhoto instantly recognizes the camera and opens up automatically. Today I tried to connect the camera to the laptop, but my Mac doesn't recognize it at all. iPhoto didn't open and I can't find the camera on Finder either. On the camera's screen it just says "Busy". I can see the pictures are still on the memory card and can look at them on the camera's screen, but can't seem to find a way to transfer them onto my laptop. Help please?
