Image Size Issues

I've been searching around the web and manual for how to make the image size on a Nikon D3100 smaller without lessening the quality. I put the image size on small (2304x1536) and the image quality onto JPEG basic in order to upload them onto social networks like Facebook without waiting for hours on end but it hasn't worked! Am I missing something? Please help!

I don't think this is a camera issue. The problem might be with your broadband speed. I have set mine to large and fine quality. I upload mine to Facebook all the time with no issues.

You can change image file sizes using software such as ImageMagik and others. This way you can still use higher resolution in camera and change resoulution/size using your computer to suite your needs.

I use Irfanview just to make things quick and easy.
