Sound Recording Device

Hi Moose. Thanks largely to your site I have just bought a 60D and I am especially interested in using it to shoot video. Do you recommend any particular sound recording devices? Many thanks for your super helpful site.

    Adam - the Rode Videomic is a great option for any DSLR. You can also buy a five dollar extension cord from Radio Shack that will allow you to still have audio recording into the camera but move the mic away from the camera (great for interviews). An off camera recording device coupled with the Magic Lantern software (with some high quality lenses thrown in there of course) makes the 60D one great piece of equipment for video.
