Settings For Outdoor Weddings

I have been asked to take photos of a wedding, and I am not professional but I take very good pictures. It is an outdoor wedding from 2-10pm in August so I'm sure there will be a great amount of sun. I would like to know what will be the best settings on my camera? Is a speed light needed for outdoors?
