Batteries For Flash

What kind of batteries do you use in your flashes? I've heard some say not to use rechargeables for some reason but they seem to be pretty popular so I'm confused. Are the expensive online camera specific ones worth it? I use energizer ultimate lithium now and they are $20 for four; seems kinda high for normal batteries to me. Thanks for any suggestions.

I've never heard about not using the rechargeable batteries in flashes. Just don't rely on them having a full charge if the have been stored for a while. I always make sure they are charged the night before if I know I am going to need the flash and I also have a set of normal batteries in my bag.
