Viewfinder Black Spot

edited September 2012 Posted in » Nikon D3100 Forum
I have a black spot on my viewfinder and I was wondering how can I take it off? There is also a hair in there. It's not affecting my pictures but I would really like it off. Any Help?

Also in the viewfinder there's a tiny transparent circle in the middle, but it's somewhat off from the middle focus point. What os that?

Buy a giottos rocket blower, take the lens off, hold camera upside down so the hole is facing down and carefully use the blower in short bursts; hopefully it will dislodge it. Don't poke the blower inside as you may hit the mirror, so be very careful.

The small circle you see is on the focusing screen which is used to focus and this maybe where your hair is. Try shining a torch and look around. You may see the hair, but again do not touch anything with your fingers or use any device other than the blower.

Personally I would pop it into a shop and ask them if they could kindly look and maybe they might be nice enough to do the job for you. :)
