When buying a lens do you take the 1.6 crop factor into the equation? A 50mm on a 60D is like 80mm, so to get more of a 50mm look do I drop down to 28mm or 35mm?
Hi M_1 You are absolutely correct. However, when you drop to 28mm or 35mm, you will face problems such as extra distortion and narrower depth of field. This is why the nifty fifty (50mm f/1.8) is so popular. Although it is closer to 80mm it strikes a good balance.
