white balance - D3100

Hi! Can anybody give me a quick guide for white balance on the D3100 (the difference for auto, incandescent, preset, etc)? If I shoot outdoors on sunny day what should I choose? Thanks in advance!

If shooting RAW you can leave the WB in auto. Auto just picks what it presumes is the correct or best setting for the image but it can be confused. Incandescent is one of the options for indoor lighting.
