Black/white (monochrome) setting on the D3100

Hi all. I just bought my first DSLR, a D3100 and I'm very happy with it so far. I would like to try to do some black and white shots. How do I setup my camera for this? Sorry if this is a very basic question and many thanks for the help. - Ian
