2X Teleconverter

Hello, I have the T2i and just bought the Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM lens for Canon EOS SLR Cameras. I am new at this! Can you put the 2X teleconverter with this?

    Hi,
    You can but you will definitely need a tripod. The 300mm EF end when doubled becomes 960mm on the 1.6 crop sensor of the T2i, so handholding is not an option. Also expect to see a very dark image in the viewfinder at full zoom even on a fairly bright day, so focus may raise issues even when done manually. Exposure will have to be adjusted to take into account the 2X converter and f/5.6 isn't a very wide aperture. But yes, you can use the converter if you wish.
