D3100 Locked Up

I was playing around with settings on my Nikon D3100 and it has locked up. I can't even shut it off. Has anyone had this problem?

@memorykeeper - Have you tried pulling the battery out and re-inserting it? What happens when you do that?

Yes, I finally took the plunge and it worked. I was afraid at first of creating a problem but one does have to be a bit adventuresome. I really enjoy this site, lots of good info.
