Camera Remote Control

Kindly recommend a remote control device for the Canon 60D. Why do I need this for slow shutter speeds of more than thirty seconds up to seven hours? Thanks for your valuable time.

I bought this one from good old Amazon. It works well but you have to be in line of sight of the camera (so you can't take pictures from behind the camera):

I have the cabled version similar to this one. With the cable, you can set and forget. This one does come with a cable so you are able to do the same:

Another option is to use something like DSLR Controller on an Android device. You can run it on a phone or tablet and it will give you times exposures, time lapse etc.
