I received my new Nikon D3100 the other day and was disappointed to discover that the only option for shooting video is using the LCD monitor. I much prefer the viewfinder, especially in bright daylight when it's very difficult to see your subject. If I'd known this was the case, I wouldn't have purchased it. However, now I'm wondering if all DSLR cameras with interchangeable lenses are restricted to using the screen for shooting video. If that's the case, I might as well keep the Nikon. Otherwise I'll put it all back in the box and sell it.
