Single Focus Point

Hi,

How do I set my D3100 so that it only has a single center point of focus when I select automatic? At the moment I have to keep going into the settings and select it each time, but I would prefer it to be on that setting when I turn the camera on.

    I'm not sure if the camera remembers your last settings used. I just tested this by selecting a single focus point, pressing ok and turning off the camera. I waited two minutes and turned it back on and it still remembered the single focus point. So I'm guessing it either takes longer or it doesn't remember. I'm stumped on that one.

    Just to add to that, I was in fully auto mode which I'm guessing you were too? I've not really come across that as I'm always shooting in manual or aperture priority.
