Best settings for an indoor horse show

edited October 2016 Posted in » Canon 60D Forum
I have just recently bought the 60D with a 55-250mm lens, and have not had a whole lot of time to get familiar with the camera. My daughter has an indoor horse show soon, and I am trying to get a good starting point for the best settings I should use. She will be jumping. Here is a random video I have found on you tube showing the exact arena I will be shooting at.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

  • I did not change much in the way of settings, though, it was more a challenge of lighting (from the Sun) in the arena at the fairgrounds (Monroe, WA)... and the DUST!
I'd recommend using a filter (for dust more than anything) and relying less on the zoom and more physically close shots, if you can. (the haze of dust in the air).
