Hooking the D5300 to a monitor

edited July 2016 Posted in » Nikon D5300 Forum
I have a good 21 inch Acer monitor and would like to hook up my D5300 to it. I have looked around and only found standard sized HDMI plugs, not the mini or micro that fits the camera.

The monitor only has vga input, but is high res.

Will this work? If so, where can I get a mini or micro (not sure which it is) HDMI to VGA cable?

Thanks,
AR

The D3200 instructions specify a type C Mini HDMI connector, which I imagine is standard on the whole family here.

I have not tried this, but it looks as if it should be possible if you can find the correct converter, and either a mini to regular HDMI adapter, or one that has mini HDMI already.

Here's one version of the converter that appears to have the correct mini HDMI connection already:

Thanks for the info. Wasn't sure of the size of the HDMI connector.
